Listed Building with French Doors and Sliding Sash Windows

Grade II Listed Building in London

Open Gallery

This six-storey, Georgian townhouse in Marylebone was the subject of a major rebuild. Having been deemed unsafe, much of the original building was replaced in order for it to be reopened as a boutique hotel – The Zetter Townhouse.

As a listed building under Westminster Council worked closely with Harper Downie architects, employing our team’s extensive knowledge and understanding of sensitive conservation and sympathetic renovation.

Drawing on our expertise in timber and historical production techniques combined with our experience of fenestration, we produced a sample window for approval by Westminster Council. This was a single glazed historic version of our cords & weights product.

Westbury refurbished the original front door, bringing it back to its former glory, and replaced all of the single glazed, sliding sash windows to meet listed building restrictions.

  • Thought you’d like to know, the chippies who fitted the windows were singing Westbury’s praises, they were really impressed with the frames!
